Multicultural Funerals

Compassionate Care that Embraces every Culture, Faith and Tradition

Every family has its own traditions, beliefs and customs. We are privileged to support Brisbane's diverse communities by creating funeral services that respectfully honour those traditions while reflecting the life of the person being remembered.

Our role is to listen, guide, and
ensure those traditions are honoured with the utmost care, dignity, and respect.

Our experienced team brings together many years of service within the funeral profession and a wealth of cultural knowledge gained through both professional experience and the diverse backgrounds of our own staff. This enables us to provide compassionate guidance with genuine understanding, while working closely with each family to ensure their customs, beliefs, and traditions are respected at every stage.

We have been honoured to support families from many cultural and religious communities throughout Brisbane & South East Queensland, including:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Pacific communities including Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian families

South Asian and South-East Asian communities

• Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino and other Asian communities

• African communities

• Greek, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian and Italian families

• Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic and Orthodox faith communities

We work closely with
families, Elders, faith leaders, community representatives, celebrants, and clergy to ensure every service reflects the wishes of your loved one and those closest to them.

We understand that every culture has its own customs and timeframes. This may include bringing your loved one home in the days leading up to the service so family and community can gather, pray, and pay their respects, arranging extended viewing periods, coordinating traditional dress and ceremonial practices, or ensuring burial takes place within the required religious timeframe, such as before the next sunrise where faith requires.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, we can assist in arranging culturally appropriate farewells, including the coordination of Smoking Ceremonies and working alongside Elders and community members to ensure traditions are respectfully observed.

We also provide assistance with interstate transfers and international repatriation for families wishing to return their loved one to their homeland.

No two farewells are ever the same.
We take the time to listen, understand what matters most to your family, and tailor every aspect of the service to honour your loved one's culture, faith, and personal wishes. Whether your farewell is held in a Church, Mosque, Temple, community hall, family home, cemetery chapel, on Country, or another meaningful location, our team will do everything within our power to ensure every detail is managed with compassion, professionalism, and respect.

We Never Assume

Every culture, faith, and family has its own unique traditions, beliefs, and customs.

While we have had the privilege of supporting families from many different cultural and religious backgrounds throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland, we never make assumptions about what is important to you.

Instead, we take the time to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and work closely with you, your family, Elders, faith leaders, community representatives, and clergy to ensure every aspect of the funeral reflects your loved one's wishes and honours the traditions that matter most.

We believe that genuine care begins with understanding, and we are committed to providing compassionate guidance while respecting the individuality of every family we serve.

If there are specific customs, ceremonies, or cultural practices that are important to your family, we welcome the opportunity to learn from you and work together to ensure they are honoured with dignity and respect.

At Tony Hollands Funerals, we are honoured to walk alongside families of all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds during one of life's most difficult times.

We are committed to creating meaningful farewells that celebrate life, honour tradition, and provide every family with the care, understanding, and support they deserve.
